Privacy Policy

This notice explains how Kevin Slattery ("we", "us"), the provider of Kind Mind, handles personal data. Kevin Slattery is the data controller for personal data processed in connection with the Service.

Data we handle and why

  • Wellbeing entries (journal, moods, meals, water, favourites, reminder settings) — stored only on your device to provide the app. We never receive them. Legal basis: performance of contract.
  • Subscription details (Plus status, plan) — stored on your device to unlock Plus. Legal basis: performance of contract.
  • Technical data (IP address, browser/device type) — processed by our hosting provider when you load the app, for security and to deliver the Service. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
  • Support messages (name, email, message) — if you contact us, to answer you. Legal basis: legitimate interests.

We do not use advertising or analytics trackers. Notifications, if you allow them, are used only to deliver your reminders.

Who we share data with

  • Paddle, our Merchant of Record, which handles the sale of Kind Mind Plus, subscription management, payments, tax compliance and invoicing. Paddle collects payment details directly under its own privacy notice.
  • Service providers, such as website hosting.
  • Professional advisers (legal, accounting) where needed.
  • Authorities where required by law.

International transfers

Some providers may process data outside the UK/EEA. Where they do, we rely on safeguards such as adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses.

Retention

On-device data stays until you delete it, clear app storage or uninstall. Support messages are kept for up to 24 months, and transaction records as long as the law requires. Data is deleted or anonymised when no longer needed.

Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections and restricted access to any systems we use.

Your rights

Under UK/EU GDPR you can request access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability, object to processing, and withdraw consent at any time. We respond within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) or your local supervisory authority.

Cookies and storage

Kind Mind uses only essential browser storage to save your entries and settings on your device. Paddle's checkout may set essential cookies to process payments. You can clear storage in your browser settings.

Not medical advice

Kind Mind supports everyday wellbeing and is not a substitute for professional care. If you are in crisis, contact local emergency services.
